How Trendy are you? Lakme Fashion Week sets the trend for 2017.

The Lakme Fashion Week funneled in a gorgeous myriad of trends that gave us our favorite Indian traditional cuts with a chic bohemian revamping. Trends like sheer capes, dramatic pockets, statement sleeves, and white ensembles emerged as the highlights of the fashion week. Want to keep up with the latest trends? You need to read this.

Here are the hottest trends spotted at the Lakme Fashion Week’17:

Tassel Fever

The catwalks of the Lakme Fashion Week’17 showcased a gorgeous abundance of tasseled gowns, jackets, free-flowing silhouettes, and the most infectiously voguish, crop tops with sheer shrugs. We fell head over heels for this gorgeous Arpita Mehtra champagne hued outfit donned by the glamorous show stopper, Karishma Kapoor. The outfit had a delightfully embroidered crop top lined with tassels, and this is by far the chicest way to flaunt tassels on the bohemian fashion radar.

Ethereal Whites

The designers like Gaurang Shah and Anita Dongre have revamped whites by blending them with ivory, beige and a touch of gold to make them all the more pristine and graceful. This blend of white with other shades brings out the beautiful Indian complexion and makes it an even more ethereal touch.

From the floor-grazing kurtas spotted at Anita Dongre, to the gorgeous summer saaris by Gaurang, women who adore flaunting white have lots of variety to shop from. We couldn’t help but love Shah’s collection of the gorgeous gold-bordered saaris, and the majestically elegant gold and white ensemble flaunted by the ever-beautiful Tabu.

Neo Blouse Chicness

Ladies, if you’ve always wanted to pair up your favourite button-downs and blouses with your lehengas, skirts, saaris and free-flowing bottoms, go right ahead, for the Lakme Fashion Week has given this look its heartiest approval.

Designers like Payal Singhal and Tarun Tahiliani have revamped our blouses, and given us an exciting burst of inspiration to pair up cape blouses, button-downs and silk blouses with floor-grazing lehengas and sheer saaris.

Statement Sleeves

Designers seemed to have channelled all the drama towards statement sleeves. Sleeves seem to be getting bigger, billowier (is that a word??!), and dramatic. The catwalks saw some exciting sleeve trends, such as bell shaped slits, off-the-shoulder slits, banana sleeves, ruffled sleeves, large billowy sleeves with slits, lace trims, tasselled detailing, and lots more. This season, if you want to make a powerful statement, be it black tie or work, pick out dramatic sleeves to sweep away your way through the crowds!

Sheer Glamour

Beautiful sheer fabrics like organza and chiffons were all the rage at the Lakme Fashion Week. The designers presented us with insanely sensual and exquisite sheer capes, cover-ups, gowns and detailing to oomph up our festive glam this season. Designer Falguni Shane Peacock has truly championed this trend with her delicately ravishing sheer cover-ups and wraps.
